How do I create a bingo card?

Creating a bingo card on our platform is a fun and straightforward process. The card editor has three tabs — Setup, Design, and Templates — which let you configure your card content, customise its appearance, and apply ready-made styles. Follow these step-by-step instructions to craft your unique bingo card:

Step 1: Initiate card creation

Click the 'Create card' button in the top navigation bar. This will open the card editor, where you'll be greeted by a template chooser dialog. You can pick a style or pre-filled template to start from, or close the dialog to begin with a blank card.

Step 2: Name your bingo card

In the Title section at the top of the Setup tab, enter a memorable and descriptive name for your bingo card (up to 120 characters). This will help you identify it later.

Next to the title field you'll see two icons: a T icon for text titles and an image icon to upload a logo instead. Choosing the logo option replaces the title on the printed card with your image, but your card title will still be used in places like your dashboard.

You can also toggle the title's visibility on the card using the eye icon next to the title controls — this lets you hide the title area entirely on the printed card.

Step 3: Choose your card type

Select the type of card that suits your needs:

  • Custom: Add your own text and images to create a fully personalised bingo card. You control what goes in every square.
  • Classic: Play traditional bingo with standard numbered formats. Choose from 30, 75, 80, or 90 ball bingo — the numbers are generated automatically.

Step 4: Pick the grid size

The grid size options change depending on your card type.

For Custom cards:

  • 3×3: For a quick and simple game.
  • 4×4: Medium complexity.
  • 5×5: Standard bingo card size.

For Classic cards:

Instead of grid dimensions, you'll choose from standard bingo formats:

  • 30 ball: A fast 3×3 game.
  • 75 ball: The most popular format (5×5 grid).
  • 80 ball: A 4×4 grid format.
  • 90 ball: The traditional UK format (9×3 grid).

Step 5: Add words and images

Click the 'Add items' button to open the content panel. Here you can add content to your card using four tabs:

Words

Enter your words or phrases, each on a separate line (use Shift + Enter for new lines). Click 'Add to card' to add them. Your items will be randomised across the card when printing.

Images

Upload images from your device to use as card squares. You can add captions to each image, which will display at the bottom of the square on your printout.

Ask AI

Use the AI assistant to generate relevant words or phrases for any topic. Just describe what you need, and AI will suggest items you can add to your card with one click.

Emoji

Browse and add emojis to your card squares. Perfect for visual games or adding a fun element to your cards.

You can mix and match content from all four tabs on the same card — there's no need to choose between text and images up front.

Step 6: Additional options

Below the grid size, you'll find Additional options to personalise your card further. Each option can be toggled on or off:

Add a free space

Additional options showing free space, column headers, and footer text toggles
  • Purpose: Adds a pre-marked central space on the card, which players can mark off without any specific requirement.
  • Customization: Choose whether to include it, and decide on the label or image to represent the free space.
  • Ideal for: Adding a strategic element to the game or providing a slight advantage to all players.

Include column headers

  • Purpose: Adds labels above each column, helping players navigate the card.
  • Customization: While traditional bingo uses B, I, N, G, O, you can customise these headers to suit your game's theme or content.
  • Ideal for: Thematic games, educational content, or simply adding a personalised touch to the game.

Include footer text

  • Purpose: Provides additional space for instructions, acknowledgments, or supplementary information at the bottom of the card.
  • Usage: Add any text that you think will enhance the players' understanding or enjoyment of the game.
  • Ideal for: Conveying game rules, citing sources, or including sponsor messages.

Randomization method

Choose how items are distributed across your bingo card. There are two options:

Randomization method options showing full card and classic bingo

Full card randomization

  • Purpose: Completely random distribution across the entire card. All items are used and can appear in any position.
  • Ideal for: Custom cards where you want maximum variety between each printed card.

Classic bingo (column-restricted)

  • Purpose: Traditional bingo layout with column restrictions. Items are assigned to specific columns, the same as in a traditional 30/75/80 ball bingo game. The order of your items matters — for example, only the first 15 items can appear in the first column.
  • Ideal for: Those who want the card ordering of a traditional bingo game but with custom words or images.

Note: If you've selected the Classic card type, the randomization method is automatically set to column-restricted and cannot be changed.
